but life is not about dreams, it is about reality and the reality of the World Trade Center bombings means life as we know it will never be the same. We have lost no one we know in the attack, but the world has lost thousands of brothers and sisters who's only mistake was to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. our hearts go out to their families and friends, to the remarkable, heroic people of the police and fire brigade, dedicated to saving lives. the world can be proud of you. we cannot ease your sadness, we cannot bring loved ones back, we can not rebuild shattered myths and dreams, we have to erect new towers of love, brotherhood and tolerance. we cannot succumb to terror, violence and intolerance, we cannot reduce ourselves to the same level as the people who want to destroy our way of life.

the world is a mystery and this should not change, just let our children sleep in peace.
